Chef Amy is a graduate of the Nicholls Culinary Program. Amy's expertise ranges from awesome pastry creations to doughs to delicious savory meals! Chef Amy works in all areas of Mix It Up including birthday parties, kids classes and camps, and adult classes! We are so glad to have Chef Amy on our team!
Abby assists in cooking classes, birthday parties, and camps. Her favorite food is CRAWFISH. MAC AND CHEESE was the first food she ever cooked. Abby loves to cook FAJITAS. Her favorite kitchen gadget is the BLENDER.
April is the program coordinator and owner of Mix It Up! April is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Fun Facts... favorite food is SPAGHETTI! The first food she ever learned how to cook was PANCAKES! Favorite kitchen gadget is the NINJA BLENDER! When April is not cooking in the Mix It Up! kitchen, researching recipes, or planning cooking programs, she can be found chasing tennis balls on the court during her kids' tennis lessons!
Megan assists in cooking classes and birthday parties. Megan is majoring in Nursing at Nicholls this year. Fun Facts about Megan... her favorite food is TACOS! The first food she ever learned to cook was SCRAMBLED EGGS. Megan's favorite kitchen gadget is the BLENDER. When Megan is not assisting at Mix It Up!, she can be found creating artwork by painting and drawing.
Mix It Up! is a fun, safe environment which teaches children kitchen safety and basic food preparation techniques.

Our after-school classes start at $65 per month (3 weeks of classes). Our after-school classes in the Fall are offered in September, October, and November.

Co-Owners Chris and April Sins are excited to bring Mix It Up! to Houma and Lafayette! April is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. April received her undergraduate education at Nicholls State University, and her Dietetic Internship at McNeese State University. Chris is a Registered Nurse. He received his undergraduate degree at Nicholls State University and Associate's of Nursing from Our Lady of the Lake, and his Masters' Degree from University of New Orleans. Both April and Chris have a Masters’ Degree in Health Care Management. Chris and April have a combined 18 years of experience working in healthcare and promoting health in the Southern Louisiana community. They have 2 young children which have helped them to realize their passion for promoting self-confidence, health, and nutrition in the lives of young people.
